5 Thanksgiving Traditions You Can Start This Year!

Cherished traditions make amazing memories that can last a lifetime. Spark up a new found love in the holiday's with simple, yet fun traditions that you can start this year!
These ideas are more centered around the kids but you can always add your own twist to things!
Make a Thanksgiving Tree - Why not set up your Christmas tree early and instead of decorating it with ornaments and garland, make Thanksgiving ornaments that everyone can write on. Put, in a few words, what you are most thankful for! (Just think, that's one less step in decorating for Christmas - the tree would be up already!)
Passed-down Through Generations - You can grab Great-Grandma's old recipe book and make a new and unique dish. Change it up every year and be sure to tell everyone where you got the recipe from! This is a neat idea to teach your kids about family history! I am part Italian so every year I try to make a new dessert dish from my Nana's side of the family! If your family isn't big on baking or cooking, bust out the box of old family photo's and share stories!
Go Somewhere - Instead of inviting your family to your house, year after year, go rent a beach house for a weekend! Okay, okay... if you are looking at something a little cheaper, you can grab a hotel conference room and throw a bash!
After-Dinner Walk - This would be lovely right around sunset- before everyone goes to leave and the night settles in. Take a stroll and get some chat-time in!
Family Trivia - After the food is eaten and it comes time for everyone to sit down, bust out Family Trivia and have some fun! Do you know all the info about your family members? Learn something new about the ones you are close with! This game is sure to be a hit year after year! Need some questions to get you started?
