Family Game Night

Games are a priceless way to interact with friends and family and who doesn't love a good game?! You can make memories by putting together a Family Game Night and to make it even better, make up your own game!
Kids have such an imagination and that is all that's needed to come up with a catchy new game! Here are some tricks and hints to make the most of your game night...
1) DESIGN YOUR OWN BOARD GAME: You can use a piece of cardboard or poster-board to create your own board game! Use dinosaur figurines or other small items as game pieces! Incorporate playing cards or old flash cards to make this game a success!
2) USE HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO CREATE A GAME: You can use just about anything you can find in your home to create a fun game! Grab the spoons out of the kitchen drawer and see who can balance a spoon on their nose the longest! You can even grab your shampoo and conditioner bottles to create an 'at home' bowling alley! The possibilities are endless... 3) GOT BOXES?: Boxes are so handy- especially for a homemade golf course! Have a child who loves to figure things out for themselves? You can create a mini-maze by flattening boxes then taping them together to form walls! How about a game of 'Can you Guess What this Is?' by placing odd and end objects in a box and trying to guess what it is only by feeling!
4) CLASSICS: Candyland, Twister, and old fashioned Dominoes are just a few of the absolutely FUN and addictive games you probably have stashed away in a closet somewhere. You can also find these gems for dirt cheap at yard sales and thrift stores! If you open up your game and realize that it's missing a piece, you can substitute it for a small figurine (or anything else for that matter!).
If you are stuck inside on a rainy day or if your kids are driving you crazy with boredom, a family game night just may be the thing you need! Start a new tradition and have some fun!
